CSU National Life Sciences Hub (NaLSH)

Value

$39M

Location

Wagga Wagga, NSW

This project involved the construction of a specialised science precinct designed to support agricultural teaching and world-class research through advanced technologies.

The facility includes a Phytotron housing growth chambers, three glasshouses (including one AQIS Quarantine Approved Premises) and the NaLSH building containing PC2 Physical Containment and QAP laboratories. Spanning three levels, the building integrates new and existing elements through the use of recycled eco bricks, extensive glazing, polycarbonate panels, recycled timber and metal cladding.

Architecturally distinctive, the project required a high level of technical precision. Key challenges included achieving AQIS QC2 and OGTR PC2 glasshouse certification, delivering laboratory-grade finishes, ensuring reliable commissioning of complex building services and maintaining program certainty. The project also achieved a 5 Star Green Star rating.
